    Personal Thoughts:

Man, where do I even start with this one? If you're looking for a Les Paul that truly feels like an old-school workhorse, this 2005 Les Paul Standard Faded is one of the best-kept secrets Gibson ever put out. This was back when Gibson was quietly making some of their finest USA models, and these Faded Standards have become modern classics for a reason.

The satin nitro finish is the star of the show here—it lets the guitar breathe, giving it a resonant, open feel that’s just different from a heavy gloss Les Paul. And it looks gorgeous. Over time, these finishes wear in beautifully, but this one? Super clean for an 18-year-old guitar, making it an absolute gem for collectors or players who want a near-mint example.

Then there's the '50s neck profile—it’s got just the right amount of chunk without being a baseball bat, making it super comfortable whether you’re digging into blues bends or laying down some chunky rhythm work. It’s solid, reassuring, and feels like a real Les Paul should.

Tonally, the Burstbucker 1 & 2 combo delivers classic PAF-inspired tones with plenty of vintage character. The neck pickup is warm and creamy, while the bridge has that perfect bite for anything from classic rock to blues to early hard rock tones. Roll back the volume, and it cleans up beautifully, responding like a proper old-school LP should.

This is one of those guitars that just feels right the second you pick it up. No fuss, no gimmicks—just a pure, honest Les Paul that sounds and plays the way you’d hope it would.

    Condition Report:

For an 18-year-old guitar, this one is remarkably clean. The Heritage Cherry finish still looks fantastic. There’s no dings, or scratches, just some tiny scratches to the rear backplate.

The frets are in great shape, the rosewood fretboard is smooth and well-maintained, and the nickel hardware is clean. All electronics work perfectly, with pots that roll smoothly and a 3-way switch that feels solid and responsive.

This guitar comes complete with its original Gibson USA hardshell case and paperwork, making it an absolute steal for anyone looking for a near-mint example of this sought-after model. Whether you're a collector, a gigging musician, or just someone who wants a killer Les Paul that oozes character, this Les Paul Standard Faded is one of those guitars you’ll regret missing out on.
